Department of Licensing Suspensions and Suspension Hearings - Attorneys in Everett and Marysville Washington Serving all of Snohomish and Skagit Counties, as well as North King County and parts of Island County.

Reasons for, and challenging, Department of Licensing Suspensions

The Washington State Department of Licensing has the authority to suspend a driver’s license for a variety of reasons.  After the City of Redmond v. Moore case, in most situations where a license may be suspended, an affected driver has the right to contest (or appeal) the suspension, by doing so in writing within a certain set of time.  Ashbach Law Offices, LLC has ample experience representing persons who are about to have their license suspended, and have recently achieved many successful results. These include successfully challenging suspension for being a Habitual Traffic Offender (7 year suspension), alleged non-compliance with the financial responsibility law (3 year suspension) and DUI suspension hearings (90 days to several years), among many others.

If you are about to have your license suspended, or have had it suspended, contact Ashbach Law Offices, LLC today at (360) 659-4950 for a free, no-pressure consultation. We have offices in Everett, Washington, Marysville, Washington, and Burlington, Washington, and serve clients in all of Skagit County, Snohomish County, and North King County, as well as parts of Island County. The Department of Licensing does make mistakes, and we are here to fix them.
Common reasons for having your license suspended include:

  1. Failure to pay a speeding ticket or traffic infraction
  2. Conviction for one of the following (among many others):
    1. DUI
    2. Reckless Driving
    3. Hit and Run (of an occupied vehicle)
    4. A felony involving a motor vehicle
    5. Eluding a police officer
    6. Theft of Motor Vehicle Fuel
    7. Minor in Possession
  3. Too many traffic tickets
    1. more than six moving violations in a twelve month period
    2. more than twenty moving violations in a 5 year period
  4. Failure to appear at a court date
  5. Not paying Child Support (there is no appeal or administrative review of this suspension)
  6. Violation of the Financial Responsibility Law
  7. Court probation violations
  8. Non-compliance with treatment as ordered by a court
  9. Vehicular Assault, Manslaughter, Homicide
